BANDS

A total of 30 acts, including 21 main stage bands, and 9 showcase acts, will perform on 3 main stages and a smaller showcase stage.  In all, over 140 musicians will perform at PV Palooza!  All bands are local to Portola Valley, Woodside, La Honda or Skylonda.  Please refer to the schedule for performance times of each band.

Dr. Sig & The SuperNaturals

Dr. Sig & The SuperNaturals

Dr. Sig & The SuperNaturals is an original rock opera. Portola Valley resident Ronny Crawford is joined by Woodside residents Smitty (Greg Smith), Sig Knapstad, and Beth Stovall with DB Walker, Lori Chaplin and Heather Courtney.

Alec Lytle & Them Rounders

Alec Lytle & Them Rounders

Alec Lytle & Them Rounders are a nationally touring indie-folk band from Woodside. They perform original music often inspired by the redwood forest where Alec lives and writes. The song ‘The Mountain’ from their most recent record spent 2 weeks at #1 on the US folk music chart.

Krim Band

Krim Band

Krim Band plays high-energy rock and roll, featuring Woodside residents Chris Skarakis (guitar), Jennifer Skarakis (bass, guitar), Marina Dellaporta Marguet (vocals), and Ted Sprague (guitar, vocals) with PJ Weston (vocals, guitar), David Hollis (drums), and Eddie Gates (bass, vocals, guitar).

Christopher Normann

Christopher Normann

Christopher Normann plays all original music - an alternative fusion of jazz, rock and electronic music. Band members include Portola Valley natives Christopher Badger (songwriting, vocals, guitar, keyboard) and Dominic Constantz (guitar) with Sebastian Najbjerg (drums) and Max King (bass).

Petty Rocks

Petty Rocks

Portola Valley resident Andy Hewett (bass) joins 4 other musicians to form Petty Rocks, the ultimate tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, bringing audiences a truly immersive experience.

Bundy Browne & Guitar Gypsy

Bundy Browne & Guitar Gypsy

Bundy Browne and Guitar Gypsy play a jammy mix of original music, influenced by Americana and R&B. PV native Bundy Browne (guitar & vocals) is joined by long time mates Rick Sigman (guitar & vocals), Dennis Harper (bass & vocals), Casey Smiley (drums) and Guitar Gypsy.

Pathetic Honey

Pathetic Honey

Pathetic Honey released “Again At Last" in 2021 and plays a range of genres from rock and funk to country, bluegrass & Americana, all laced with improv jams. Portola Valley native David Barrow joins musicians from Woodside, Kings Mountain, and La Honda.

Up and to the Right is an oldies, classic rock and country cover band featuring PV resident Ray Rothrock (bass, tenor sax) and his son Nathaniel (vocals, keys) Michele Huertas (vocals), with Peter Sawyer (lead guitar) and George Huertas (rhythm guitar).

Ginger + Bandits

Ginger + Bandits plays classic rock, pop hits and originals. Lead vocalist and former Portola Valley resident Ginger Pistilli is joined by Portola Valley native Paul Skrabo (guitar), Joey Fabian (bass), Stuart Horton (guitar), and Dennis Dove (drums).

Pacific Vibration

Pacific Vibration

Portola Valley native Kerry Wing (vocals / guitar), and brother Aidan Wing (vocals / guitar) are joined by 5 other local musicians, playing upbeat and soulful original reggae music.

Whiskey Hillbillies

Whiskey Hillbillies

Whiskey Hill Billies bring a unique blend of wit and personality to their collection of acoustic Americana and Country music. Woodside residents Steve Dussé (Bass, vocals), PJ Weston (guitar, vocals), and Andy McKaige (banjo, vocals) are joined by Dan Lucas on drums and Howard Klein on keys.

The Bubbles

The Bubbles

The Bubbles band plays twenty-first century modern rock covers. Portola Valley resident Jeff Morgan (lead vocals), is joined by Fredrik Forsman (guitar), Ilya Umansky (keys), Cody Stumpo (bass) and Dennis Willoner (drums).

Los Trancolizers

Los Trancolizers plays classic rock covers, featuring Portola Valley residents Steve Dunne (rhythm guitar), Rob Kalman (lead guitar, vocals), Laure Woods (vocals) and Scott Tandy (bass, vocals), joined by local Carla Wray (drums, vocals).

Zanzibar

Zanzibar

Zanzibar blends Afro-Funk, Afro-Cuban and Latin influences into their music. La Honda native Kerry Wing (guitar, lead vocals), PV native Tim Hilborn (drums) and La Honda resident Alan Burr (trombone), are joined by Eric Tabelion (bass), Rudy Ramirez (guitar), Ricardo Molina (percussion) and Jen Muir (sax).

Slush

Slush

Slush covers rock hits from the 70s, 80 and 90s. Portola Valley residents Andy Barrows, Todd Scheuer, Karel Urbanek, Ty Jagerson and Taylor Hinshaw are joined by Joe Lange of Woodside.

Squirrels of Wisdom

Squirrels of Wisdom

Squirrels of Wisdom plays original rock and covers. Woodside resident Wesley Barrow (bass) is joined by Mel Worthy (violin), Lisa Edberg-Thompson (vocals, guitar), Jen Bruno (drums), Jenny Bennet (vocals, keys) and Michelle Spahn (vocals, lead guitar)

Salty Licks

Salty Licks

Salty Licks plays a unique blend of Americana covers. The band features Portola Valley residents Todd Johnson (guitar, vocals) and Bundy Browne (guitar), with Mary Zarucchi on vocals. Guest musician and PV resident Angela Schillace will be joining on violin / fiddle.

Windy Hill

Windy Hill

Windy Hill is an award-winning bluegrass band featuring Portola Valley native Ryan Breen (vocals, banjo) and an all-star cast of California pickers.

Postman Jack & The Special Deliveries

Postman Jack & The Special Deliveries

La Honda singer-songwriter Jack Mullins (guitar/vocals) is joined by La Honda residents Chris Bouman (bass), and Fred Deubert (drums). Postman Jack and the Special Deliveries have just released a new album, "The Right to Remain Salient", featuring twelve of Jack's own compositions.

Hornzilla

Hornzilla

Portola Valley resident Jon Keller (vocals) is joined by a full rhythm section and 5-piece horn section to cover a variety of jazz standards, R&B classics and the Blues.

RS5

RS5

RS5 is a sextet that plays jazz classics. Portola Valley resident Bob Murphy (piano), Woodside resident Steve Jones (guitar) and La Honda resident Guy Lalonde (drums) are joined by local musicians Don Arnold (bass), Rich Silton (alto sax), Philip Hirschberg (tenor sax) play the gamut of jazz standards with a distinctive and authentic groove.

SHOWCASE BANDS

Showcase Bands

The Showcase Stage is next to the library lawn main stage.  Showcase acts, mostly youth bands, perform for 20 minutes each.  For 2025, we will have a total of 9 Showcase acts.  One of the showcase bands will be selected to open the day on one of the soccer field main stages.
